What is a hack bike?

The hack bike combines AI-powered workouts with Reduced Exertion High-Intensity Interval Training (REHIT) that’s calibrated to each user for a truly hacked workout. It’s the shortest and most effective cardio workout available, effectively achieving 45 minutes worth of cardio in under 9 minutes. Truly, this is better than any spin class you’ll ever take!

How does the Hack bike work?

The hack bike is the only system that accurately replicates maximum intensity levels of exercise that’s about three times higher than biking uphill. It’s impossible to reach this peak using a regular exercise bike, and it’s all thanks to Reduced Exertion High-Intensity Interval Training (REHIT).


REHIT is essentially more intense than standard HIIT, but takes less time. We like to think of it as: reduced time to get to the high intensity. With the hack bike, you alternate between your body’s energy demand being essentially 0% to being 10,000%. There are only two 20-second sprints during the workout, but they’re super powerful.

Complicated on a molecular level but simple (and quick!) for you.

In the first 10 seconds of the sprint, your body makes energy available by immediately depleting your body’s glycogen stores. Glycogen is the storage molecule of glucose, so by releasing it, you feed your muscles fuel (and get rid of all those sugar stores in the body). At this time, your sympathetic system also gets upregulated - you’re essentially shocking your body into fight-or-flight response. 


In the second 10 seconds of the sprint, your body releases certain signaling molecules, including AMPK and PGC-1a, both metabolic activators. Once they’re activated,they trigger your body to make more mitochondria. 

Then... you cool down for 3 minutes. Your body returns to "rest," but you've got all these metabolic enhancers on the move working to burn glycogen stores and increase energy - all as a result of just 20 seconds of intense work!

But then it happens again to your body. Sprint #2 comes along, and everything that happened with the glycogen stores and metabolic activators happens again, but now your body thinks that it has to always be ready for this… so it keeps those things circulating. This results in the after burn effect where you’re burning calories after the workout because you’ve hacked your body into thinking it needs to have these metabolizers and mitochondria alert and ready to act.

What can I expect during a Hack bike session?

You’ll get on the hack bike in the same way you use a regular stationary bike, but the AI will adjust to your specific needs. You will begin with a 2-minute warm up to get your blood flowing without increasing your heart rate. Then you’ll do a 20-second sprint, followed by a 3-minute recovery ride. You repeat that sprint, then follow it with a 3 minute cool down.
